The Indian Association of Northern Italy organised ‘Diwali Milan’ on 22 November 2024 in Milan. Consul General Lavanya Kumar graced the event as the Chief Guest. Officials of the municipality and Indian diaspora joined in these celebrations. Various cultural events organised on this occasion enthralled the audience.

Hearty congratulations to the top-performers in the Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz: Consul General felicitated the following top scorers from Italy in the Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz with Certificate of Achievement on #RepublicDay2025 : Ms Vritika Gautam, Mr Ayush Kumar Bhardwaj, Mr Harsh Harsh, Ms Shruti Patil, Mr Rudrarth Vatsa, Mr Abhronil Paul, and Mr Dhrumith Vimal Shah.
Consulate General of India, Milan enthusiastically celebrated the 76th #RepublicDay2025 on 26 January. Consul General unfurled the flag, followed by the audience singing the national anthem. He then read out the address of the Hon'ble President of #India to the nation and detailed the ongoing community outreach efforts by the Consulate.
At the Republic Day reception hosted on 24 Jan at Milan, Consulate was honored to receive several diplomats, dignitaries from the Lombardy government, immigration, academicians, industry & other sectors, Indian diaspora& friends of India. The diverse array of cultural events showcased during this occasion captivated the audience.
Hindi language students and Professors in the University of Milan celebrated the Viswa Hindi Diwas event on 16 January 2025. On this occasion, the University organised a quiz competition on Hindi language for the students. Consul General Mr Lavanya Kumar distributed prizes for the winners.
Ambassador of India H.E. Mrs. Vani Rao inaugurated the India Pavilion at the ongoing Vicenzaoro trade fair on 17 Jan &interacted with Indian exporters& exhibitors participating in the fair. Earlier, she participated in the inaugural ceremony of the fair& emphasised on possibilities of collaboration between India & Italy in the Gems & Jewellery sector.
Students and the Faculty of the Ca' Foscari University of Venice enthusiastically celebrated Vishwa Hindi Diwas on 10 January 2025. On this occasion, the students narrated Hindi poetry and shared the benefits of learning Hindi language.
Consul General visited the ongoing 'Expo Riva Schuh' trade fair in Riva del Garda, Italy on 11 Jan 2025& interacted with Indian exhibitors. More than 100 exporters from India are participating in this fair. Council for Leather Exports @cle_india supported participation of several of these exporters.
Consulate organised a special consular camp on 21 December 2024 at the premises of Consulate in Milan for surrendering Indian passports. More than 200 persons availed the consular services.
Consul General and officials of the Consulate joined with the Indian diaspora in celebration of #Christmas and #NewYear festivities organized at The Church of Good News in Faverzano, Brescia on 22 December 2024. Mayor Mr Giancarlo Mazza and other officials of the Commune of Offlaga also joined in these celebrations. On this occasion, children and members of the Church sang various Christmas songs and hymns.
The Consulate of India organized a workshop on 'India as a strategic partner for Italy: Unlocking growth in a changing global landscape' in Turin on 12 Dec 2024. CG Lavanya Kumar, President of the Chamber of Commerce in Turin Dario Gallina and President, Piemonte Agency for Internationalization (CEIP) Davide Peirone participated in the event. Representatives of about 30 Italian firms participated in this workshop.
Screening of two Indian films i.e. "83" and "Vikram" with Italian subtitles were organised by the Consulate General of India, Milan at The Space Cinema, Padova, on December 13 & 14, 2024. Friends of India, local citizens and members of the Indian diaspora, and students attended the screenings. Deputy Mayor of Padova and other officials of the Municipality attended the screenings with their families.
The Consulate of India organized a business event on ‘India as a strategic partner for Italy: Unlocking growth in a changing global landscape’ on 06 December 2024 in Vicenza. The Hon’ble Mayor of Vicenza Giacomo Possamai participated in this event and emphasized on the importance of strengthening trade relations between #India and Italy. @investindia officials also joined in the event
India pavilion at Artigiano In Fiera was inaugurated by Consul General Lavanya Kumar and President of Artigiano in Fiera Antonio Intiglietta on 02 December 2024. Various artisans, master craftsmen, and sellers from different councils of India including Handloom Export Council of India (HEPC), Powerloom Development &Export Promotion Council (PDEXCIL), National Jute Board (NJB), India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), and Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) participated in this fair.
Consul General Lavanya Kumar and consulate officials interacted with the Indian students pursuing various courses in Domus Academy and NABA in Milan on 25 November 2024 and briefed them about various welfare activities being undertaken by the Consulate for the welfare of Indian students. The Managing Directors of both institutions and their faculty members also joined in this interaction session.
The Consulate of India celebrated the ‘Constitution Day’ on 26 November 2024. Consul General Lavanya Kumar administered reading the ‘Preamble to the Constitution of India' to India-based officers/staff members of the Consulate.
